  • Works Closely with the General Manager (HR and Facilities) and Head of Manufacturing (Inventory and Purchasing)

JOB OVERVIEW

Torque3 is seeking a competent Bookkeeper/Inventory Manager to oversee our books, maintain accurate accounts, handle daily purchases, and categorize, organize, and track the inventory of our small prototyping shop.

The ideal candidate will have a strong bookkeeping background with an emphasis on accrual accounting, and good knowledge of GAAP accounting, accounting systems, and processes – preferably working at a manufacturing, machine shop, or fabrication company. This person will also be willing to take on the challenge of implementing effective inventory management for our small prototyping workshop.

Torque3 is a rapidly expanding MedTech startup that is developing a breakthrough neurorehabilitation solution. We are developing a realistic simulator that combines immersive VR, advanced robotics, and task-orientated therapy. Our integrated system is designed to help stroke and TBI survivors increase their neuroplasticity, and thus, make substantial gains faster. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Full Charge Bookkeeping including, Banking, Accounting Records, Reconciliations, and Financial Reporting.
  • Must be able to manage the trial balance and make any necessary adjusting journal entries to correct discrepancies, Month-end trial balance reconciliation for approval by the CFO prior to closing the books every month.
  • Preparation of Financial Statements includes preparing the balance sheet and income statement at the end of the month.
  • Handle the company's banking needs, including reconciling monthly bank statements, and monitoring cash flow.
  • Work With the General Ledger
  • Prepare Journal entries for accounts such as fixed assets and depreciation.
  • At the end of each month, a trial balance is run to verify that general ledger accounts are in balance.
  • Production of cash-flow forecasts
  • Record and maintain all financial transactions in QuickBooks Online and SOS Inventory (which syncs to QBO)
  • Inventory Management, Asset Management, Purchase Orders, and Receiving
  • Handle daily purchase requests under $1,000.
  • Receive, record, and track daily deliveries and shipments.
  • Organize, categorize, and document our existing inventory and assets.
  • Inspect and document the levels of equipment, supplies, parts, and raw materials to determine shortages.

QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED TRAITS

Mandatory

  • Minimum 3+ years of bookkeeping experience using the Accrual Method.
  • Highly proficient with QuickBooks Online
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and GAP accounting
  • Basic Accounting Knowledge - General Ledger, Trial balance, Bank Reconciliations
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Fixed Asset Register and Depreciation
  • Loan repayments and interest
  • Management of monthly bookkeeping cycle
  • Production of monthly accounts
  • GAAP accounting
  • Must have experience creating purchase orders and entering invoices.
  • Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports (or willing to learn)
  • Experience working at a manufacturing/machine or fabrication shop is strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with Inventory Management software is a plus (we use SOS Inventory)

Desirable

  • Experience working at a startup or small company.
  • Knowledge of accounting for Equity instruments inc. SAFEs, stock purchase agreements, convertible notes.
  • Budgeting
  • Streamline Chart of Accounts
  • Streamlining Purchasing and Accounting Processes
  • Invoicing
  • Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a relevant field preferred
  • Permanent residence in the US is required and no visa sponsorship is available.
  • Must live near Centerville, UT (just outside of SLC) or be willing to relocate – there’s phenomenal skiing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, etc. just minutes away!
