Reddy Bikeshare Fleet Technician - Position Available!

Reddy Bikeshare is a program of Shared Mobility Inc. in partnership with Independent Health.
With 435 bikes available in the region, Reddy offers residents and visitors a fun, active and healthy way to explore Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

Position Overview

Our team is seeking a Fleet Technician that will help grow the Reddy Bikeshare program’s impact and build our Operations Team’s capacity as our program continues to grow in size and membership entering our 8th season. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits. Following onboarding, this position will work in a hybrid environment with time spent at our Operations Workshop as well as out in the field working hands-on with our bikes.

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 40 hrs./ week;
Working Location: Reddy Bikeshare Operations Workshop - North Buffalo
Compensation: $18-20 / hour plus benefits package

Responsibilities
● Rebalancing of the bicycle fleet and general shop operations
● Lifting and loading bicycles
● Assess, identify and report bicycles in need of in-house repair
● Ride an E- Bike with a trailer to redistribute bikes as required
● Interact with customers and potential customers in public
● Assist with station assembly and disassembly as season starts and ends
● Provide routine station maintenance and repairs as necessary
● Work together with Reddy Bikeshare & SMI team members toward program goals
● Other duties as needed

Requirements
● Mechanical and technical aptitude
● Good written and oral communication skills
● Comfortable with fast-paced response times for repairs
● Can lift up to 60lbs independently, with supports, and/or with accommodation
● Experience with hand, air and power tools
● Works collaboratively and also independently

● Enthusiastic about biking
● Reliable transportation and valid NYS Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications
● Interpersonal skills
● Experience with community outreach and engagement (bike-related or otherwise)
● Organization and time management skills
● Commutes by bicycle regularly
