What you’ll do: (a complete list of required job tasks can be found on the job description)

• Serve as the benefits subject matter expert for multiple business units of Silgan Holdings

• Manage 20 + different health plans
• Assist in the development, implementation, and administration, of benefit programs, policies, and procedures
• Aid in the evaluation, recommendations, and selection of employee benefit plans, including health, life, and disability for represented and non-represented employees to achieve desired economic cost structure goals of the businesses
• Inform, educate, and influence the c-suite in each division about analyzed benefit options and future cost predictions for existing benefit programs or establish new ones
• Perform complex tasks typically following established procedures

• Work with consultants to renegotiate or reevaluate vendors in search of cost savings
• Partner with outside ERISA attorneys to keep plan documents legally compliant

What you need to have:

• Bachelor's degree in HR or Business, Master’s degree preferred
• 10+ years of benefits experience
• Comprehensive employee benefits knowledge including all legislative requirements
• The ability to travel up to 10% /year

• A high-level of communication skills
• Critical and analytical thinker
• Ability to think and act quickly/logically and correctly in a business-like fashion in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills in MS Word and Excel, Workday HCM/Benefits preferred
• Experience working in manufacturing, multi-location, multi-union, multi-state is preferred
