Behavioral Health Consultant - Hybrid (Up to 70% Remote)
Job description
SUMMARY
The BH Consultant will report to the VP of Clinical and Therapeutic Services. The BH consultant will be responsible for the development, facilitation, and establishment of skill-based and/or therapeutic groups for clients and/or families. In addition, assess social determinants of needs for each patient and provide and/or link patient to services as indicated. The BH will collaboratively work with clients and their care team to develop goals, objectives, and treatment plans.
Participate in a multidisciplinary team to provide trauma-informed, quality care to all clients and families.- Complete intake interviews for prospective clients.
- Provide brief therapy or refer/link to long term therapy to clients based on their individual and programmatic needs.
- Provide therapy and counseling based on established psychotheory and/or evidenced-based practices.
- Participate in weekly individual clinical supervision and clinical team meetings
- Complete documentation related to services delivered (including, but not limited to: quarterly reports, progress notes, staffing forms, screening forms and assessments etc.).
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation by their respective deadlines, including: timesheets, vouchers, progress notes, assessments, MHAs/ITPs, quarterly reports, incident reports, discharge reports, etc.
- Actively seeks ways to improve systems and services as well as participates in performance improvement activities.
- Complete all Core Curriculum training(s) as required for this position.
- Engage in continuing education trainings for professional growth and development.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, is required, clinical licensure preferred.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse populations with a comprehensive understanding of culture that includes: race and ethnicity, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc.
- Previous experience completing comprehensive mental health assessments, treatment plans, and screenings.
- Previous experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Understanding and possessing previous experience working under Medicaid Rule 132/140 (preferred, but not required).
