Taldeco is seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team. As an Automation Technician, your expertise in troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining automation systems will be vital in optimizing productivity, minimizing downtime, and driving process improvements.
Responsibilities:
Automation System Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of automated systems, including robots, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other related equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize equipment downtime and ensure continuous operation.
Programming and Configuration: Develop, modify, and debug PLC programs and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to optimize system performance and meet production requirements. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement automation solutions and integrate new equipment into existing systems.
System Integration and Testing: Install, configure, and commission new automation equipment and systems. Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure proper functionality, accuracy, and safety compliance. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to resolve any integration-related issues.
Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Investigate and diagnose complex system faults, including electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address system failures and minimize production disruptions.
Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel on automation systems, troubleshooting techniques, and preventive maintenance practices. Foster knowledge sharing and cross-training to build a skilled and capable automation team.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience and industry certifications will be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in automation maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming. Experience with robotic systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control networks is essential.
Automation Technologies: Strong knowledge of automation systems, including PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMI development, robotic programming (ABB, Fanuc, etc.), and industrial control networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.).
Troubleshooting Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and resolving technical issues in automated systems, including electrical, mechanical, and software-related faults. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
