Apple’s Audio and Media Technologies team (AMT) is looking for a creative, self motivated and dedicated software engineer to join the AirPlay Audio team with a focus on building new audio features for AirPlay 2. This team builds the foundations and future of AirPlay Audio, the technology that powers the customer experience of iOS, macOS and tvOS networked media playback. The Audio and Media Technology group provides the media foundation across all of Apple's innovative products including iPhone, iPad, Mac, AppleTV, HomePods, and operating systems. Combining ground breaking software techniques with next-generation hardware, Audio and Media Technology takes the media experience to the next level. Key Qualifications
- Strong programming skills with C and/or C++
- Expertise in media playback pipeline programming with emphasis on audio
- Experience debugging problems in a highly concurrent environment
- Experience with using and developing media libraries especially for mobile platforms
Description
The Connected Media group within AMT is looking for a senior software engineer to join our team to work on AirPlay Audio. We are the backbone of Apple's multi-speaker ecosystem, responsible for media distribution and playback on HomePods, and we are looking for an expert media pipeline lead engineer that has built complex and layered media software stacks. As an engineer on our team you will be responsible for driving new features in AirPlay Audio across multiple platforms. You will be curious, self-motivated, and thorough when they approach new challenges. You will also be able to collaborate effectively on a team, mentor junior engineers, and thrive in a dynamic, highly fluid environment.
Education & Experience
BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $144,500 and $250,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
