Summary of Position
Keene State College invites applications for the position of
Director of Athletics. The College is seeking a dynamic visionary and experienced athletics leader and administrator who will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Division III intercollegiate athletics programs. The successful candidate will build upon Keene State College’s success as one of the premier public athletics departments in New England, winning 16 straight Little East Conference Commissioner’s Cups. The successful candidate will enter at a time of investment and growth and will lead the institution in creating future structures to best leverage our facilities and advance our student athlete experience.
Reporting to the President, the Director of Athletics will be responsible for planning, implementing, and administering a program of intercollegiate athletics, consisting of more than 18 sports classified in Division III of the NCAA with an annual operating budget of over 3 million dollars. Other minimum qualifications
Masters degree and a minimum of five years experience in higher education; intercollegiate athleltic administration experience; demonstrated experience with budgets, compliance, and fundraising; knowledge and practice of faciity and programmatic risk management; proven administrative, organizational and intererpersonal skills; and demontrated proficiency with computer applications including MS Office.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
A terminal degree or J.D/L.L.B. degree; experience with student athlete development, athletics and recreational fitness/student affairs. Additionally, the College has identified desirable qualifications that support our commitment to creating and maintaining a diverse campus community including the ability to speak a second language or to bring a multicultural perspective to the campus.
Salary Information
Salary is commensurate with experience and complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off. The position is part of the Keene State College Directors and Supervisors Association (KSCDSA).
