Job requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering Technology, or related field. Also requires two years of experience as a VDC Technician in developing 3D and 4D visualizations and models during the pre-construction phase of projects and federating models for constructability reviews, and schedule simulation.
Job duties:
Build and federate Building Information Modeling (BIM) models for the pre-construction and construction phases of assigned construction projects. Provide 4D BIM support, instruction, and troubleshooting for construction sequencing simulation, logistics planning, and visualization for constructability. Collect models from Architects, Engineers, and trade contractors, making sure models align, and federating models for clash detection, constructability reviews, and 4D schedule simulation. Increase the productivity and effectiveness of the construction team through improved use of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC). Create construction plan and associated baseline schedule for construction activities through the effective utilization of BIM and VDC planning and scheduling software, and project management and resource planning software. Identify and adjust any potential scheduling issues prior to construction through the application of project management and resource planning software.
