Job description
Working on the Polytechnic campus, with the Polytechnic School and School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks and the Business Engagement Catalyst, the Associate Director will administer one of the premier Fulton Schools of Engineering’s experiential learning opportunities, eProjects. In this role, the position will collaborate directly with the FSE School Directors on the Polytechnic campus, undergraduate program chairs, and capstone faculty to support the capstone and eProject’s portfolio. The Associate Director - eProjects cultivates, recruits, plans, and secures industry sponsored capstone/eProjects in cooperation with the capstone course faculty.
Over a one or two semester course sequence, the eProjects program aligns students and industry in experiential learning opportunities, creating novel solutions for real-world scenarios in a cooperative technical relationship. Industry-defined problems become opportunities for teams of students to apply their technical skills alongside faculty mentors and industry advisors.
This role will support the coordination of industry recruitment through agreement negotiation and project funding. The Associate Director will also be responsible for ensuring funding aligns with needs and scope of work and will assist the FSE Business Office with invoicing and collection of fees with industry partners.
This Associate Director will also support the recruitment, planning and execution of advisory boards as needed across the Fulton Schools of Engineering, and support the planning and execution of the capstone and eProjects showcase events twice a year.

Essential Duties
This position will serve as the lead project manager by assessing current and potential capstone and eProjects to:
- Support the number of students enrolled in FSE capstone and/or project courses
- Monitor capstone and eProjects in-process including periodic surveying of industry sponsors
- Prepare and coordinate the capstone and eProject Service Agreements
- Provide data as appropriate for accreditation purposes
- Assist with overseeing the evaluation of the eProject program
Industry Development
The Associate Director will develop, cultivate and recruit wholistic industry support through individualized engagement roadmaps building specialized brand, research and work force development strategies working with partners across ASU and the Fulton Schools of Engineering to ensure partners are plugging in appropriately. This will include growing and maintaining relationships, collecting follow up and providing feedback as the primary capstone and eProject contact for FSE Faculty, Faculty Associates, and students.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or technology-related field AND seven (7) years of related experience specifically in business development, marketing, and program operations, including four (4) years of supervisory/management. OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

- Experience in cultivating customers and closing deals involving mechanical, electrical, automotive, general engineering, manufacturing engineering technologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices pertaining to the assigned department.
- Demonstrated knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of budget management methods and techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning principles and practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of organizational management.
- Experience in problem solving and decision-making.
- Experience in planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities and establishing priorities.
- Experience in effectively managing, supervising, and evaluating assigned staff.
