Chubb invites applicants for the position of AVP Finance within its Brandywine Group of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies, the group within Chubb which handles most of Chubb’s run-off books of business. The AVP Finance is a critical position within our Brandywine Finance group. Reporting directly to the CFO Brandywine, the successful applicant will assume management responsibility for management reporting, planning and forecasting, data analysis, and supervision of our aggregate impairment process.

Duties and Responsibilities

FP&A

Preparation of multiyear strategic plan
Preparation of annual expense plan and cashflow plan; periodic reforecasting
Monthly expense reporting and analysis

Business/Technical

Accounting & Control Familiarity
Insurance, Reinsurance and Actuarial Accounting
US GAAP and Statutory Accounting

Data and Analysis

Interpret financial information and articulate data sourcing processes
Analysis of registration data to ensure integrity
Prepare ad hoc reporting requests
Preparation of semiannual reinsurance bordereau

Financial Reporting

Quarterly Manager Audit Committee reporting for Brandywine entities
Support for GAAP 10-K disclosures reporting
Journal Entry creation, ranging from routine to bespoke, and accrual support
Account reconciliation ownership

Provide strategic decision support to the broader Brandywine Management team and the Finance community
Supervision of our aggregate reporting process and the team performing this work
Develop relationships and collaborate with a wide variety of horizontal counterparts (e.g., Actuarial, Statutory Finance, Reinsurance, IT)

Qualifications
A four-year college degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in accounting, business, or finance degree preferred
At least five years relevant insurance/reinsurance industry experience
Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail and ability to think creatively
Experience managing staff and overseeing complex processes
CPA/MBA Preferred
Proficient in end user applications (e.g., Microsoft products such as Excel/PowerPoint/Word)
