Regional Commercial Real Estate firm, headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking an Assistant Director of Lease Administration. This leadership position is an integral team member providing First Class Service to our Property Managers, Brokers, and our Clients.
The ideal candidate for this position is a motivated self-starter with commercial property experience, strong attention to detail and superior organizational and time management skills and enjoys working collaboratively. A successful candidate will be knowledgeable in lease administration, takes initiative with accurate results, meeting deadlines, as well as assisting in leading and training the Lease Administration Team.
Responsibilities for a commercial retail and office portfolio include:
- Setup, abstract, and maintain commercial lease documents in Yardi; interpret and research commercial lease language,
- Review and process Operating Expense reconciliations (CAM, taxes, insurance, and utilities) ensuring lease compliance,
- Complete due diligence for tenant estoppels,
- Financial analysis to include computing cost analysis, variance, and account reconciliation,
- Project income recoveries for annual budgets,
- Maintain Rent Rolls and all financial billings required per lease terms.
Leadership Role:
- Assist Director with training and supervising the work and performance of Team. Collaborates with Director to establish performance objectives and provides oversight of progress,
- Assist with the on-boarding and off-boarding of properties through the transition phase,
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Team, clients, and tenants.
Successful Candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate
- 5+ years commercial real estate experience (Lease Admin or Real Estate Accounting)
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Ability to understand and interpret complex commercial lease terminology
- Experience in abstracting lease documents
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- YARDI experience preferred
- Must pass background and drug screening
