About Community Interface Services

We are a local nonprofit that has been serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1983. At the core of our services, we believe that people with intellectual/developmental disabilities are in the best position to determine how they want to live, and that they should be valued and included in society.

Key Responsibilities

As a Community Engagement Aide, you will be working with one individual who is interested in participating in their local community. As you work together with this person, you will:

• Support them in exploring volunteer opportunities and their local community
• Plan social and recreational activities to expand their community network
• Assist with mobility training to increase independence in accessing the community
• Provide job coaching in an office setting, and connect them with resources to help them publish a book.
• Document progress, work with a larger team to analyze metrics and determine future steps

This full-time human services position works Monday-Friday from 9 AM-3 PM and earns a competitive starting wage of $18.50 - $20.50 per hour. Work locations include Carlsbad and Vista, CA.

Qualifications

• College degree or related experience preferred, high school diploma required
• Experience in behavioral support strongly preferred
• Car in safe working order, vehicle insurance, Valid CA driver's license, and 2 years of driving experience
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
