WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The Debt Capital Markets team is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of bond issuances and/or liability management transactions for Latin-American clients including sovereign, quasi sovereign, corporate and financial institution issuers, as well as exploring and developing alternative sources of funding in the international capital markets. We operate in a fast-paced environment and, as a leading player in the region, Santander is focused on bringing new, innovative, and value-added ideas to meet our clients’ needs. The Analyst function will be a key part of a wider origination and execution team.
Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:
Understand and interpret key market indicators in order to creates presentations and pitch materials for potential transactions
Present summaries of economic and market developments, relevant comparables, recent primary offerings and secondary trading performances to identify trends and develop insights used in client communications
Develop an understanding of a client’s financing needs and the available debt capital markets products that can fulfill those requirements
Analyze companies from a financial, operational, competitive and industry standpoint
Liaise with regional and local offices & sector bankers, the syndicate team and other team members during deal origination and execution process
Assist in transaction execution by drafting documentation, due diligence sessions, internal procedures, working group lists, calls coordination, roadshow logistics and marketing materials
Support senior members of the team in the ideas generation process to provide financing solutions for our clients
Assisting on the preparation of business plans and internal presentations

Education:
Bachelor's Degree/equivalent degree or comparable work experience
Work Experience:
3-5+ years of relevant work experience
Skills and Abilities:
Fluent in Spanish and English
Process and detail-oriented, with strong aesthetic sensibility
Technically focused, adapt to changing priorities, time sensitive deliverables and ability to multitask
Intellectual curiosity and proactive approach to searching for new and creative ideas
Self-motivated to take initiative on projects and assignments
Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
Proven ability work collaboratively in a team environment
Financial background and Bloomberg terminal knowledge are a plus
Solid experience with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking. For NYC Job Applicants: The base annual salary range for this position is $85,500-$161,000. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
