The Bowery Mission is a holistic, Christian, faith-based organization dedicated to serving people who are experiencing homelessness. The Choose Help team oversees all clinical and Day Center programming, including meal services, Chaplain services, and the shower and clothing programs.

The Ambassador Supervisor will lead the Ambassador team to support functions function across program teams to create a warm, welcoming, collaborative atmosphere for all guests while providing support to address felt needs such as food, clothing, shelter, medical care, chaplaincy support, etc.

Specifically, lead team of Ambassadors at the Tribeca Campus to develop unified, dynamic, Day Center programming and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all guests to Choose Help (CH). In support of the Ambassador team, serve as first point of contact for guests to experience the transformational love of Jesus Christ as demonstrated in practical actions. Equip and train team to develop trusting relationships with guests by addressing felt needs (food, clothing, shelter, medical care, etc.). Model Motivational Interviewing skills and equip team to conduct Needs Assessments to support Choose Help assessment process. Facilitate engagement between guest, Ambassador, and Social Worker. Oversee Ambassador case load and Day Center activities schedule to track measurable outcomes. In collaboration with the Director, Spiritual Formation Team, and Development team, foster new partnerships to expand Day Center Programming. In collaboration with the Spiritual Formation team, plan and implement chapel services which support the organizational statement of faith and are sensitive to the diverse needs and culture of The Bowery Mission's guests and residents. Provide one to one spiritual care as needed for guests, program residents, and staff in a manner that promotes organizational culture and values.

Work Schedule: (in person) Monday - Friday 10 am - 6:30 pm (Sat - Sun Off)

Requirements:

• Embraces the organization’s Statement of Faith

• 3 years in ministry, non-profit, or human services with supervisory and strong customer service duties
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or other relevant area preferred, or a combination of education and additional work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to follow protocol and provide accountability
• Working understanding and application of trauma-informed care
• Excellent conflict resolution skills & reporting skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Computer & email proficiency

Preferred:

• Certifications: Mental Health First Aid, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-informed Care, First Aid/CPR, F-80 Fire Safety Certification
• Understanding of security and safety standards
• Knowledge or prior experience working with substance use or mental health population

Salary commensurate with relevant education & experience: $53,000 to $58,000 per year
