HOURS: Monday – Friday, 40-50 hours
SALARY: $55,000 - $62,000 per year
LOCATION: This position may work remotely but must be commutable to our Westbury, NY office (vaccination required).
Success at OL USA is dependent on our dynamic workforce. We’re currently seeking an Air Export Specialist to manage our cargo bookings. This Specialist will be the central point of contact providing complete shipping information from booking to final delivery and billing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete process of shipment, including arranging for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, document preparation (bill of lading, AWB), EEI, invoicing, forwarding, POD.
- Maintain effective communication with vendor, shipper, customer, and carrier
- Seek the most profitable mode of transportation while meeting the customer’s requirements for the movement of their cargo.
- Provide rate quotes
- Prepare documents including airway bills, bill of lading, AWB,…
- Approve vendor invoices
- Resolve customer service issues with minimal supervision
- Track and trace cargo as necessary to ensure proper movement and delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of export operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of the booking process with air carriers and truckers.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks accurately and on time in a demanding environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with clients, carriers, the pricing team and other teammates.
- Creative and effective problem solver
- Effective Interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good working knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities, airports.
- Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
