JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University Department of Chemistry is seeking a candidate for an Administrative Support Assistant 3 .

This position will provide support to faculty members with administrative and financial functions. The successful candidate will assist a team of faculty members in completing administrative tasks needed to run a research group. This position will be involved in monitoring budgets, arranging and coordinating travel, processing reimbursements, assisting with lab ordering, and reconciling purchasing cards for assigned faculty members and their groups. Other administrative functions may include assisting faculty members with updating faculty activity reports, curriculum vitae, and promotion and tenure dossiers; maintaining calendars; and scheduling appointments. The successful candidate will work closely with the Eberly College of Science (ECoS) Finance Office and Research Office to facilitate processing of appropriate forms and documents. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

This position typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position will require successful completion of standard background checks .
