GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to provide routine administrative support in a variety of functions within an organizational department, division, section or another group.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs data entry using a computer
- Communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints
- Performs payroll functions, such as maintaining timekeeping information and processing and submitting payroll
- Computes, records, and proofreads data and other information, such as records or reports
- Prepares meeting agendas, attends meetings, and records and transcribes minutes
- Serves as purchasing coordinator
- Answers telephones and gives information to callers, takes messages, or transfers calls to appropriate individuals
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All employees must remain drug and alcohol free when reporting to work, while at work, and while engaged in any work related activities.
Shift work is required to provide 24-hour coverage. The successful applicant will work weekends (on a rotating basis), evenings/nights and holidays.
**The Criminal Justice Information System course and test must be taken and passed within 6 months of the hired date and taken annually thereafter.
**A polygraph and background investigation will be required of the candidate recommended for employment.
