ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT COORDINATOR – GRANTS MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

Serves as the subject matter expert to Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) on Medical Assistance Billing. Responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the Medical Assistance Billing function within HCPS to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of billing.

Directly responsible for managing and monitoring the workflow of employees in the day-to-day functions of high volume school-based Medicaid billing activities.

Oversight of process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance related to COMAR, documentation, and billing.

Actively involved in re-engineering Medical Assistance Billing through systems change and process flow.

Provides oversight for the verification of Medicaid eligibility of +2000 students with disabilities.

Prepares, tracks and reports monthly encounters of billing submissions and provides information to HCPS management personnel.

Develops and maintains custom Access databases and Excel spreadsheets in order to monitor and report on Medicaid billing encounters.

Prepares Medicaid related correspondence and reports for distribution to school-based staff members.

Attends MSDE and DHMH training sessions for school-based Medicaid billing.

Facilitates the preparation and support documents for the annual MSDE/DHMH audit.

Gathers information and assists in the preparation of Medicaid audit responses; reports to federal/state officials.

Monitors compliance related to Medicaid-related billing practices.

Assists with the development of and implements Medicaid-related correction action plans (CAP).

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.


SALARY


Grade 10 of the Salary Schedule for 12-Month Clerical ($49,598).


TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


Associate of Arts degree.

Five years of office or administrative support with increasing responsibilities, preferably in a public-school setting.

Medical billing experience and/or office management experience is preferred.

Knowledge of Special Education, Individual Education Plans, and student databases such as e-School Plus.

Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions within established general guidelines.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledgeable in the use of database programs.

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to establish working relationships with others.
