JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Professional Accounting/Office Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team as well as manage our front desk/answer incoming calls.


As an accounting assistant you will help our accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.


To be successful as an Office Assistant you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with situations in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking is essential for this position.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the office & direct them to the appropriate person and office.
  • Answer, screen & forward incoming phone calls.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy & presentable.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
  • Assist CFO and other financial professionals with creating & editing financial documents.
  • Working with spreadsheets and entering journal entries.
  • Issue invoices to customers at the direction of the CFO.
  • Assist with account reconciliations as required.
  • Assist with month end, quarter end and year end filings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Prior accounting/book-keeping experience.
  • Able to perform accounting tasks accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take directions accurately.
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver.
  • Competent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of accuracy.
  • Extremely organized in a manner that is easily read by others.
  • Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize.
