Job Summary and Qualifications

This is a shared facility position where you will be working between LewisGale Hospital Pulaski and LewisGale Hospital Montgomery.

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists the Controller/Assistant Controller in organizing, directing, and staffing the Accounting Department in a manner commensurate with the scope of service offered.
• Supervises the day-to-day activities of assigned Accounting staff including ensuring their duties are performed accurately and timely.
• Fosters an environment that encourages open communication within the department and between hospital management and fiscal.
• In cooperation with the Controller/Assistant Controller, assists in completion of the year-end tax work-paper package. Assists in preparation and review of any items associated with Medicare year-end items.
• Maintains Sarbanes Oxley/Internal Controls Hospital Level Key Controls. Also ensures Hospital is compliant with all assigned areas of HCA Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements.
• Reconciles assigned portions of the balance sheet and income statement, ensuring compliance with all Key Level and Internal Controls.
• Assists controller in completion of assigned budget preparation requirements.
• Participates in completion of assigned survey, review, audit response, hospital-related project/ research.
• Participates in and leads assigned monthly and year-end financial close activities.
• Participates in the monthly analysis of expense accounts as well as monthly and quarterly explanations due to Division.
• Supervises/leads the reconciliation of depository accounts

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE

3 -5 years accounting required

EDUCATION

2 year degree with 3-5 years experienced required or BS or BA Degree in Accounting
