Job Summary:

  • Responsible for accounts payable functions to ensure invoices are entered timely and paid according to terms. Accountant will work with vendors to settle any variances between statements to invoice. Will also assist in monthly closing processes including journal entry input and account reviews to meet closing schedule deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Assist in streamlining the Accounts Payable Process
  • Execute credit card and bank account reconciliation
  • Preform invoice and general ledger data entry and prepare and perform check runs
  • Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
  • Collaborates with teammates to preform the annual issuance of 1099’s
  • Prepare weekly payment files
  • Correspond with vendor and respond to inquiries as needed
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Prepare monthly GL reconciliations
  • Assist with quarterly and yearly tax provisions
  • Assist with yearly audit requests

Qualifications:

  • Education –
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Competencies/Skills –
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent Time management skills
  • Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
  • Experience –
  • 2-4 years prior accounts payable experience required
  • Experience with accounting software and online platforms
  • Certifications/Licenses –
  • N/A

Mental/Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Vision, hearing speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to sit for extended periods. Light physical effort requires handling average weight objects up to 10 lbs and some standing and walking.
Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations’ situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments when necessary. Must be proactive in finding solutions.
