ALASKA INDUSTRIAL HARDWARE, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Account Manager in Anchorage. This position will require a person to call on and establish a working relationship with assigned account list.
Responsibilities:- Call on customers on assigned list.
- Build account list by calling on new customers.
- Demo products to customers
- Do customer quotes/special orders/customer orders.
- Read plans and assist customer with Hilti Products.
- Understand fall protection and other safety products to assist customers with needs.
- Previous account manager experience, knowledge of commercial hardware and related industries (transportation, oil, mining, construction etc.) preferred.
- Possess a valid driver license with a clear driving record.
- College degree in Business or related field
- 5 years of experience as account manager may replace degree.
- Communication skills, both written and oral
- Self-motivated, being able to complete work during unsupervised periods.
- Must be able to do basic math.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Legible handwriting
- Microsoft office skills
- Project positive attitude
- Possess good social skills.
- Honest, friendly, energetic and dependable
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Willingness to travel in assigned geographical area. Occasional travel required to attend company and vendor activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of Hilti and the ability to do submittals on products (firestop)
- Knowledge of fall protection products
- Knowledge of safety products
- A certified fall protection trainer
- A certified epoxy inspector

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
As an Account Manager you will have normal office working hours with an occasional weekends and night, with a clean and well-lit environment. Your work will require local travel around the anchorage area. You will spend most of your time listening, speaking and educating clients, either on the phone, email or personally.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS.
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity.
