Overview: The Account Manager – Styrene is primarily responsible for representing AmSty’s Styrene Monomer business in the marketplace. This role requires developing strong relationships with current and prospective customers while generating value for AmSty through execution of effective sales strategies and portfolio optimization. The position is located in The Woodlands Texas with coverage including all of the United States, requiring up to 40% travel. This position reports to the Business Director – Styrene.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Represent AmSty and the Styrene Business in a professional manner.
- Develop customer relationships that provide AmSty opportunity and improve business results.
- Discover and freely share relevant market and customer intelligence to the business team.
- Meet customer and territory sales and margin objectives.
- Produce dependable contractual agreements for the sale of Styrene.
- Define and maximize market value for monthly and annual price agreements.
- Management of sales territory that effectively leverages organizational capabilities.
- Advocate for enhanced organizational capability that strategically benefits the business.
- Build a strong internal team to serve customers and manage accounts.
- Actively develop new and better Customer opportunities.
- Manage internal and external monthly pricing communications.
- Provide detailed sales forecasts for efficient material flows and accurate financial estimates.
- Prioritize and optimize order loading in collaboration with Supply Chain Planners.
- Utilize available expense budget efficiently to maximize customer interface and impressions.
- Actively review costs to serve customers and overall recovery through commercial negotiations.
- Support accounts receivable in past due collections and resolving discrepancies.
- Support product stewardship initiatives through customer interactions.
- Actively participate in QN/RCI processes and engage relevant customer stakeholders for resolution
- Facilitate internal efficiencies and cross functional work processes that support margin objectives.
Job Requirements:

- Proficiency with desktop applications such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.
- Bachelor's degree, with preference given to Technical and Business Disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years work experience – direct Petrochemical sales experience a plus.
Relocation is not available with this position.
