The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a QA Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Be an active member of a scrum team and write test cases to validate code
- Work with fellow quality (QA) engineers, software engineers and other engineering/development team members to test required systems
- Ensure 3M applications integrate with 3rd party vendor software required to deliver the required solutions to 3M customers
- Adhere to team testing procedures and standards
- Help resolve escalated customer support issues
- Develop and maintain test cases
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to needs of various stakeholders and re-prioritize tasks as necessary in a shifting environment
- Actively participate in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, comply with professional and quality standards, comply with corporate policies and procedures and act in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
-OR-
- High School Diploma/GED (completed and verified prior to start) and ten (10) years of experience in software development
- Three (3) years of quality assurance experience including private, public, government or military experience
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience with Python, Java, JavaScript/HTML, .NET, SQL
- Experience using Git and Microsoft TFS
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
- Experience developing automated tests as well as experience performing manual tests.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with the defect lifecycle
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Team player yet able to function independently with minimal supervision
- Health information systems experience and an understanding of hospital medical record systems (e.g. grouping, editing, coding, abstracting, reimbursement and billing) is helpful but not required
- Ability to meet predefined deadlines, prioritize work assignments, break processes into smaller steps and ensure deliverable dates are met
Location: Murray, UT, REMOTE
Travel: May include up to 5%
