Job description
The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn community school district is looking for qualified applicants to fill a 1.0 FTE Special Education Strategist II position to start in August 2023. The qualified applicant will be responsible to teach and work with special education students to best meet individual and team needs. This position will be working with another experienced Special Education Strategist II Teacher to meet the needs of an expanding department.
The HMS High School serves around 210 students in grades 9-12 and is located in Hartley IA. HMS is a progressive district and is currently engaged in the PLC model for professional development. Due to having a very supportive community, our district finished construction on a new Middle School building in August of 2021, and are using a new Elementary building completed in August of 2020. We are located in beautiful Northwest Iowa, just 30 minutes south of the Minnesota border and are 30 minutes away from the Iowa Great Lakes/Okoboji area, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Sioux City, and 1 hour and 40 minutes from Sioux Falls SD.
HMS offers a very competitive starting salary and benefit package. Salary and benefits will be discussed based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
