SUMMARY STATEMENT/POSITION OVERVIEWSupervises a group of 30-40 people across 1 shift. Responsible for Ford Kit and GM Kit warehouse processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBLITIES
- Oversees activity of the warehouse staff, including but not limited to: monitoring picking progress, put-away, material returns, maintenance and control practices.
- Also responsible for cycle counting process and efficiency leading up to year-end inventory audit.
- Coordinates picking activity to satisfy the production schedule
- Prepares work orders for handoff to production staff
- Coordinates the return of all material back into the warehouse
- Verifies counts for accuracy.
- Verifies appropriate condition of stock.
- Maintain storage area by organizing floor space; adheres to storage design principles; recommends improvements according to 5S principals.
- Maintains inventory by conducting daily physical counts; reconciles discrepancies and reports findings to Warehouse manager.
- Coordinates coverage during employees’ vacations.
- Promotes/ Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources while adhering to company & federal compliance standards
- Ensures training of new employees, retraining of old (if required) and cross training to allow for a flexible workforce and opportunities for advancement.
- Communicates effectively and regularly with the warehouse staff.
- Maintains relevant procedures, processes and work instructions.
- Issues warning notices to employees for violations of rules or company policies or performance deficiencies. Ensures that all vacation request form are filled out and turned into Human Resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in automotive warehousing
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to develop and implement the use of processes and procedures
- Ability to use all relevant systems, programs, and equipment to complete job
